If the old adage of charity starting at home is to be believed, the work being done by North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) couldn’t be a better example of making a difference in the local area.
Since launching in 1999 the charity has completed over 45,000 missions across the region – with an average of seven call outs a day – and works tirelessly each day to reach those most in need.
Many of those missions have resulted in someone’s life being saved. As will many more in the days, months and years ahead.
However, with no government or NHS funding in place, the charity relies entirely on the support of generous donations from members of the public to raise the £18 million needed to stay operational each year.
A large amount of these donations come via a weekly charity lottery, which costs just £1 to take part in and is drawn every Friday.
Better still along with your donation, you’ll have a chance to win a £1,000 jackpot with every ticket you buy.

In 2023, North West Air Ambulance teams attended over 3,000 incidents across a region of 5,500 square miles.
8 Million people in the North West can benefit from the use of the service meaning, if the worst does happen, your nearest and dearest in the area will get the care they need most.
One in three of the missions NWAA embark on is funded by money from the Lift off Lotto and it is clear just how important this source of support is to those in the area.
Every single £1 ticket purchased for the weekly Lift off Lotto draws goes towards ensuring North West Air Ambulance remains airborne.
Keeping these helicopters in the sky is the only way to make sure the lifesaving work of their crews can continue.
Give a little back and stand the chance to win £1,000 every Friday when you sign up to join the North West Air Ambulance lottery.
